Diving in the Weymouth and Portland area is considered some of the best in UK waters.  Situated smack bang in the middle of the English Channel, one of the busiest shipping channels in the World, if not the busiest, with a naval and sea faring history that dates back millennia, its natural development and the legacy of two World Wars have littered the surrounding area with more than its fair share of wrecks.  With wrecks situated in both deeper and shallower waters, there is a dive to suit all levels of experience.  With a large number of offshore reefs too, the dive sites attract all manner of marine life so there is always something to be seen, whatever the weather.
Whether you want to participate in a couple of holiday dives or if you want to participate in a diving holiday, then The Esplanade is the ideal place for you.  With relaxing rooms, baths and showers in all the bathrooms (except the single room which has a shower only), there is a relaxing sea facing balcony bar, in which you can sink a few drinks after a hard day’s dive.  Within walking distance of the Old Harbour and a short drive from Portland, it’s ideally located.
