Activities

If it is the outdoor lifestyle you adore, then Weymouth is the place for you.  Whether relaxing on the golden sands, hiking along the World Heritage Jurassic Coast, sailing on the open sea or people watching around the bustling marina, then Weymouth is ideal.  Being on the level, Weymouth is accessible to all.  As the hop on point for a day trip to the Channel Islands and France, the port is always busy with holiday activity as well as the more traditional fishing trawlers.

The South West coastal path is one of the most beautiful parts of the country.  With Golden Cap to the west and Durdle Door to the east, there is a wide range of natural beauty to discover.  You cannot help but discover a fossil whilst combing the beach in the picturesque town of Lyme Regis, just a short trip away.

Weymouth has some of the finest internationally recognised sailing waters in the World.  Deep sea, beach and pier fishing is also very popular and easily arranged.

With some of the best wreck diving in the country, Weymouth and Portland offers the diving fraternity an abundance of choice for all technical levels of diver, every day of the year.

Weather

Weymouth is lucky to have above average daily sunshine hours and extremely good temperature records.  Blessed with its own little micro climate, it will often be raining in your back garden but will be sunny and nice on Weymouth Beach.  You can view the official weather statistics along with any historic information at the following link www.weymouth.gov.uk/home.asp?sv=181.
